[Despite going on a whole mission together and having a close mutual friend, Twitch and Donnie didn't talk much, so it was a little surprising to get a message from him. Even so, she smiled when she heard his voice, just a little... There was a little spike at the end with the mention of Annie, but she wasn't going to worry about that right now.]

Oh! Hey Donnie! Thanks for reaching out. Don't worry about not doing it sooner.

[She was cool right? She was sounding cool? Cool and casual. She was quiet for a moment.]

That stuff was kind of scary, huh?

[He lets out a breath, allowing for a smile on his own end at that.]

Heh. Yeah. Scary's...definitely one way of putting it. Never want to go through that again though, zero stars- I'd give a negative review for that school if it hasn't already been shut down.

Um.

So how're things?

It better be shut down or I'll go back there and--!

[She cut off, could she really go back there, if she needed to? She wanted to say yes. She had to say yes. So that was her answer.]

They're okay, I got grounded.

[The pout was clear in her voice.]

I'm sure it was. Baki doesn't strike me as someone who would let something like that stay in operation.

[He doesn't want to go back. He never wants to go back there again and for all that it had some interesting technology, he doesn't care if ended up sinking into that trench.]

O-oh. Sorry to hear. [She can hear the wince.] For how long..?

Ug, like, forever. I don't remember. A long time. It was like a month or something. It doesn't actually matter because I got blown up and Megatron said that that cleared any punishment. But I can't believe he tried to ground me!

[There was a loud clang on her end of the line and then a huff.]

Did you get grounded?

Eyeeew, a month? How can anyone survive that? I don't think dad's ever grounded us for that long!

-wait.

Waaaait wait wait what do you mean you got blown up?!

And no I did not but this is not about me, what's this about blowing up??

[bigsisterterran]

[Twitch was about to respond to the whole 'month being a long time' thing, but then Donnie freaked out and Twitch had to take a moment to catch up. She thought everybody knew. Especially Donnie. Wasn't he her boyfriend or something?]

Yeah, uh... I got really mad at Anemone and she... dropped a bomb...

[She spoke nervously, not really sure what the best way to tell him about that situation was.]

[Not that there are many people who are known to blow people up on the ship but so far as Donnie can understand, there seems absolutely no reason for Anemone to blow up Twitch! They were friends, weren't they??

Although now it makes a lot more sense as to why Anemone had sounded so hesitant when she'd asked.

Silence reins over his end of things as he falls into furious thought. What reason could Anemone ever have to get so mad at Twitch that she thought blowing her up would be a good idea?? He's...not sure what he feels about that, except just a little queasy.]

I...

...didn't know.

Oh... um...

[She wasn't sure if she was supposed to apologize or not.]

I think that's why she left. She blew up Megatron when he was just trying to make sure she was okay and I got really mad at her for it.

[She got a bit quieter.]

I shouldn't have yelled at her, but she shouldn't have hurt my family like that...

[The pieces fall into place, why the sudden message and change of plans, why Anemone had decided to go back home without him.]

...I'm sorry.

[He's not sure what else to say to that.]

She's always had a thing for blowing up Megatrons. She's connected them ever since the trouble that one Megatron brought to her world when we had to fight Unicron.

But ever since Iskwiyac, she's...been different.

[Twitch hasn't known Anemone as long as Donnie has, but she likes to think she's noticed something too. But what were they supposed to do?]

I think I'm still mad at her, but I don't think I hate her...

[It was the first time she has said it out loud so succinctly.]

Do you think we can help her?

[thepurpleone]

I don't blame you. But...at least you can say that. I think she's really sorry for what she did, or at least she was really concerned about you.

[Not that he's an expert in that sort of thing.]

...I hope so. If there's a will, there's a way, right?

[He'll definitely fix this.]

She's coming back right?

[She wasn't sure how to feel about Anemone being worried, even now, so she wasn't going to confront it right now.]

You don't have to do it alone. Surely we can help her. And your brothers and whoever else.

[She grew more determined the more she talked.]

When she comes back we can talk to her, I don't know what we would say but we can let her know how worried we are.

Yeah. She's with her mom right now. There's been a lot for her to deal with.

[Something in him tightens. More anxiety? It all feels the same these days.]

Maybe...maybe not right when she comes back. I'm not really sure how to bring it up either, but...I think we should at least let her get settled back into things.

[She really hates to say this, but...]

What if she hurts someone again... before we can help her?

[He falls silent then. He doesn't have an answer to that because he doesn't want to believe it'd happen. Still, he knows that'd be foolish considering Anemone's track record.]

[Twitch can't quite decide if that's comforting or not. It takes her a minute before she responds.]

I can help.

[She doesn't want Donnie to go this alone. Not just because she worries about Anemone's reaction, but also, she really does want to help her friends. And that means both Anemone and Donnie.]

I know you mean well, but...I don't want her to feel like she's being ganged up on, you know?

[bigsisterterran]

[Twitch lets out a little huff, but she knows he's right. That makes it worse actually.]

Yeah. Okay. But call me as soon as there's trouble! Or good news! Good news is better!

[thepurpleone]

[He snorts lightly in the faintest of laughs.]

Okay. Good news it is.

[bigsisterterran]

[There was a beat of silence where maybe she was expected to hang up, but the explosion still rang in her ears.]

Are you sure you're going to be okay?

[She had thought she was a good friend to Anemone too. She knew it wasn't anything like what Donnie and Anemone had, but... well, things happened.]

[thepurpleone]

[On his end, Donnie blinks. Boy is that a loaded question. He hopes the pause isn't too telling, or suggesting anything because it's mostly his overthink again, making things more complicated than Twitch probably means it to be.]

Yeah. I'll be okay.

[bigsisterterran]

[Another beat of silence, and then a small sigh.]

Okay. Talk to you later?
